Questions we get asked first
A broker works for you, not for an insurer. An insurer's representative can only offer their own products. Ardent goes to a panel of insurers and underwriters to find the combination of cover, price and policy wording that fits your risk. We also lodge and argue your claims, manage renewals, and review the program as your business changes. The broker fee or commission is disclosed in our Financial Services Guide.
Most brokers start with the renewal and work backwards. Ardent starts with your risk. We map your exposures, find the gaps in your current cover, test the program against realistic loss scenarios, and then go to market. The result is cover based on what you need this year, and a program that stands up when a claim happens.
Steadfast is Australia's largest general insurance broker network. Membership gives Ardent access to insurer facilities, group-negotiated policy wordings that are often broader than standard market wordings, and direct relationships with specialist underwriters. In practice that means we can place risks others struggle to insure, negotiate terms that are not on the open market, and back claims with the network's weight, while you deal with a small team.
Ardent is paid through broker fees or commissions from insurers. Both are disclosed in our Financial Services Guide. There is no charge for a risk review or an initial program assessment, and the first conversation carries no obligation.
Ardent prepares and lodges the claim, manages the insurer's assessment, answers their information requests, and argues for the full recovery the policy allows. We know the wording and the insurer's expectations, and we push back when we need to. Clients often tell us a complex or contested claim is when they saw the value of having us in their corner.
Annually at renewal, at minimum. A new contract, an acquisition, a new site, a change in revenue or headcount, or a new product should each trigger an interim review. A program that was right 18 months ago can have real gaps today. Ardent schedules mid-year check-ins and is available whenever your circumstances change, at no extra cost.
Most clients are fully onboarded within 5 to 10 business days with no break in cover. Ardent notifies your current broker or insurer, obtains copies of your policies, and reviews the program before any renewal falls due. There is no cost to change. It usually starts with a single 30 minute conversation.
