Corporate Travel Insurance
Every time an employee boards a plane on company business, you carry a duty of care. Corporate Travel insurance helps you meet that duty. It covers medical emergencies, evacuation, trip disruption and personal liability, and protects your business from the financial consequences of unexpected events during business travel.
Medical emergencies and trip disruption on business travel
A medical evacuation from a remote site
An illustrative example of how Ardent can make the difference in a time of need.
An employee fell seriously ill at a remote overseas location. Local treatment was limited and an evacuation was needed quickly.
The corporate travel policy was in place with the emergency assistance number in the client's travel pack, and the assistance line was engaged within the hour.
The employee was evacuated to a major hospital and repatriated once stable. Medical, evacuation and repatriation costs were met by the policy.
This is an illustrative example. Every claim is assessed by the insurer on its own facts and under the terms of the policy.

What a client says about Ardent
I found that the service at Ardent insurance very helpful and very polite customer service. A true pleasure to work with.
Corporate Travel FAQ
Workers Compensation provides limited cover for overseas incidents. It does not cover the cost of emergency medical treatment and evacuation in countries without reciprocal healthcare agreements with Australia. Medical bills in the USA, for example, can reach hundreds of thousands of dollars for a serious hospitalisation. Corporate Travel insurance provides the immediate medical funding, repatriation logistics, and personal liability protection that Workers Compensation was never designed to deliver.
Yes. An annual Corporate Travel policy covers all declared employees (or any employee of the business) automatically for all business travel throughout the policy year, up to specified per-trip and annual aggregate limits. This removes the administration of arranging trip-specific cover, and means no trip is left uninsured by oversight. Ardent sizes the annual policy based on your travel frequency and destinations.
Most Corporate Travel policies extend cover to personal days that are incidental to a business trip, for example a Saturday spent sightseeing between two business meetings. The trip must be primarily for business purposes. Policies vary on whether purely personal extensions (adding a holiday week after a conference) are covered, and Ardent checks this with the insurer when structuring your policy. Where additional leisure periods need cover, an endorsement or separate arrangement can usually be made.
Standard Corporate Travel policies typically exclude travel to countries listed on the Australian Government's "Do Not Travel" advisory. For businesses operating in elevated-risk regions (resources, mining, aid or consulting in developing markets), specialist high-risk travel and kidnap & ransom (K&R) coverage can be arranged separately. Ardent works with Lloyd's of London specialist underwriters to structure appropriate cover for businesses that operate in challenging environments.
