People Protection

Safeguard the people who drive your business

People risk (workers compensation, corporate travel, and life cover) contributes to your total cost of risk in ways that often go untracked. A well-structured people program reduces claims frequency, supports return-to-work outcomes, and shows the duty of care you owe your team.

Why People Cover Matters

Your duty of care doesn't clock off.

As an employer, your responsibility for your team is continuous, and the financial consequences of getting it wrong are significant. Recurring lower-level claims, rising workers compensation premiums, and gaps in travel cover are all signs that people risk is being underestimated. We help you understand and address the full picture.

Most employers must hold Workers Compensation insurance, and the rules and exemptions vary by state and territory. Our partner Hewitt Hicks can check that you are compliant in every state you operate in.

Corporate travel risk is often underestimated. Standard Workers Compensation often does not adequately cover overseas travel incidents. Dedicated corporate travel insurance fills this gap.

Group life insurance attracts and retains talent. Offering life and income protection benefits as part of an employment package helps you compete for staff.

Legally Required

Workers Compensation (referral partner)

Workers Compensation covers your employees for work-related injuries or diseases, including medical expenses, lost wages, and rehabilitation. For most employers in Australia this cover is compulsory, though the rules vary by state.

Each state and territory has its own Workers Compensation scheme with distinct requirements. We refer workers compensation to our partner Hewitt Hicks, who specialise in each scheme and in managing premiums and claims.

Medical & Rehabilitation
Covers all reasonable medical treatment, hospital expenses, and rehabilitation costs arising from a workplace injury or illness.
Weekly Benefits
Income replacement payments during the period an injured worker cannot return to their pre-injury duties.
Common Law & Lump Sum
Protection against common law damages claims and lump-sum permanent impairment payments where applicable.

Corporate Travel Insurance

Your responsibility for your employees' safety continues while they're on business-related travel, domestically or internationally. Corporate Travel policies cover medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellation, lost luggage, rental car excess, and personal liability while travelling on company business.

Annual multi-trip policies are available for frequent business travellers, so there is no need for per-trip arrangements and cover is continuous.

Life Insurance (referral partner)

Life insurance needs differ from person to person. Ardent does not advise on or arrange life insurance: we refer business owners and individuals to our partner, MBS Insurance, which advises on personal and group cover, including term life, total permanent disability (TPD) and income protection, under its own licence.

Group life arrangements can also serve as a valuable employee benefit, attracting and retaining talent by offering financial security for your team and their families.
